Flying disaster zones

The director general of Indonesian civil aviation, Budhi M Suyitno, has admitted that his country has a woeful safety record. He said that for every one million flights across Indonesia there are 3.77 fatal flights when the global average is 0.25. "This is absolutely unacceptable," he told the conference. Too right.
But which other airlines should be avoided like the plague? Well, according to the EU, travellers should steer clear of every single one of The Congo’s air carriers, as well anything that flies in Equatorial Guinea, Kyrgyzstan (bordered by Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China in case you were wondering), Liberia, Sierra Leone and Swaziland. There are lots of others to be alert to and the full list can be accessed here: http://www.ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/pdf/list_en.pdf.
